Foster a sense of community, mutual respect, and inclusivity among all young people residing with us.

Support the health, safety, and wellbeing of all young people in our care.

Ensure a pathway to independence through tailored, person-centred planning.

Our Purpose

Phoenix House semi-independent provision provides a service to young people aged 16+, both male and female. The gender makeup of the placement will be dependent upon the needs and risk assessed of each young person. Whilst we can accommodate up to 5 young people, we have made the decision to currently accommodate up to three young people, as for us the service and support we provide to our young people should be about quality, not quantity. Our focus is that the young person feels at home and that the placement reflects this, and having a small number of young people in our provision enables us to focus and engage with them on a much more in-depth way.

Phoenix House is a 24-hour unit offering guidance and support. We offer emergency, short/long term placements to young people, who may require targeted support and are known to Children’s Services or young people who are ready to leave home and require support via semi-independence; in doing so we prepare young people for the challenges and opportunities of adulthood in a safe, structured, and stimulating environment.

We offer a framework of support which underpinned by a strong foundation of primary support which includes, by creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment, that aims to prioritize their emotional, physical and social wellbeing.

Phoenix House’s work with young people is influenced by the Social GGRRAAACCEEESSS model, which highlights key social factors shaping identity and interaction. This framework—covering Gender, Geography, Race, Religion, Age, Ability, Appearance, Culture, Class, Ethnicity, Education, Sexuality, and Spirituality—helps Phoenix House create an inclusive, person-centered approach. By recognizing these factors, staff can better understand young people’s experiences, address inequalities, and provide tailored support that fosters personal growth, resilience, and empowerment.
